for the second bad barbie records vinyl release of 2016 we are more than exited to bring you the magnificent work from the bla bla music owner daniel sanchez with his impromptu ep. here we have four amazing pieces where each one tells a different history. the first one pearled into droplets saw the light after a great live jam and the result is combination of several layers of base elements with subtle minimalistic articulations. these, in combination of the bass and synths lines do create a truly amazing micro house piece. the second one vague, is an atmospheric dub were a single synth chord raises in slowly, followed by a very subtle kick and bass line to set a bit of rhythm to the whole thing, creating a superb dreamy vibe while the chords do their thing with delicate reverbs and delays in the backend. a great musical piece indeed. for the third track we have yi, again another amazing micro house jewel born from a live jam, but this one is even more energetic than the first one and it also includes, besides a rocking bass line, analog synth chords that lifts up the mood during specific moments, which also do their part articulating themselves perfectly with some occasional twisted vocals that helps create an amazing party vibe from beginning to end. and if this wasn t enough we also have bedroom stories vocal tool that daniel included with his delivery, which can help spice up a dj set with ease.

keeping with the rough release rate of an album every couple of years, prime numbers label boss trus me is back with his fourth full length, planet 4. featuring nine cuts of intergalactic techno and once again marking a considerable sonic evolution for this acclaimed uk artist. never one to do the same trick twice, david james wolstencroft uses his latest album as a vehicle for his own interest in deep space, physics and dark matter. it is those subjects that have occupied his mind in recent years, and those subjects that inform this brilliantly otherworldly album. where previous lps have variously been funk and soul heavy, or openly analogue and physical, this one is a more subtle and supple techno affair that is as cerebral as it is seductive. starting with a monologue that suggests that man has already landed on mars, 1979 is a cut that immediately places you somewhere in orbit. spooky synths and sci-fi sounds are eerie and atmospheric and very much set a perfect tone. from there, there is slow, elastic and unsettling mood music on the unexplained , deep and insular techno on dark flow and trippy dan bell style minimalism on ring round heart . the second half of the lp touches on chunky dub, manic and melodic grooves. this is a coherent statement that holds together conceptually and musically. as well as providing plenty of dynamite for the more discerning dance floor, planet 4 is also a delightfully detailed affair that will work just as well on headphones late at night.

watergate affairs is a brand new offering featuring residents, regulars and affiliated artists that have developed close ties to the club through the years. over the course of four tracks, jimi jules, lee jones, la fleur and david mayer & sebastian voigt perfectly display the sound of watergate. diving right in is jimi jules and he hasnt let lost a step, picking up where he left off with his stellar bogota ep earlier this year by churning out a burner. 6% is rooted in a heaving low end groove while hypnotic tones spiral around a modulating lead that never lands in the same place, ensuring a twisted dance floor venture.

the return of faetch - four tracks of real 2016 techno earwiggle is the irish techno label from sunil sharpe following the earth-shifting faetch 1, which was played by practically every techno dj worth their salt, tibetan entity faetch returns for the next part in the ongoing saga. sturdy, rolling drums and fiery vocal bursts on jeidge signal early chaos on the a-side, moving onto the pure techno funk of wershif - a definite ear wiggler if ever we heard one. on the b-side faecel is tense, more heads-down fare, not at all dissimilar to cari lekebusch s classic early drumcode material. closing the ep is cargoe , where jittery broken rhythms ricochet off rave stabs and echoed vocals & sound fx. another crucial faetch four-tracker here, for fans of inventive dancefloor techno.

andreas tilliander returns to kontra-musik in a grand style with his second tm404 album. titled acidub , this highly anticipated release is much more of an evolution than a repetition of the first superbly self-restricted album, where tilliander even decided to use only one of the two roland tb-303 waveforms. acidub is a more playful and open listening experience, no doubt inspired by his extensive live touring with the tm404 concept. in fact, you can almost hear tilliander s flock of acid machines breaking free from the restrained modus operandi. every sound is like a migratory bird with a heart yearning for high altitude and favourable winds.

�this is eleanore mills� was her debut and only album, recorded for the sylvia robinson�s all platinum subsidiary astroscope in 1974. the album was produced by harry ray and al goodman of the moments and tommy keith of the rimshots. it includes some great crossover and modern soul cuts, including the in-demand string laden early soul/disco �same routine� a popular killer cut and �i�m gonna get you� another superb up tempo soul cut. �fascinating devastating man� is a lovely mid tempo track. the album includes some beautiful soul ballads �he said goodbye�, �how can i love you� and the heavily sampled �telegram� which she rips up, plus �teach me� an amazing near seven minute opus which picks up a heavier groove half way through.

vactrol park, the collaborative endeavor between kyle martin (land of light) and guido zen (brain machine), returns to the esp institute with ii, rounding out the second half of their ep series. for this installment, a sojourn was made to stockholm to record at the computer music mecca, ems (elektronmusikstudion), where the artists had the opportunity to experiment extensively with the legendary buchla 200 modular and serge modular, two of the rarest and most pornographic modular synthesizers in existence. while both instruments originate from california (buchla in berkeley as a commission from pioneer morton subotnik, and serge at the california institute of the arts), the music vactrol park draws from these machines is far from warm and sunny. akin to their predecessors on the 2015 debut i, these works materialize a level of taste and measure of craft that�s unattainable by most, each retaining an individual cinematic approach yet working collectively toward one consummate goal�paralysis.
